What’s important?

When I opened up the WordPress iPad app and started this post, the title that came to mind was “What’s important?” I’m not sure why that came to me. Maybe it was my unconscious mind wanting an answer to that question.

Side-note: I’ve always been confused by the words unconscious and subconscious. Apparently they are the same, but different. Here’s an article about it. I’m not going to concern myself too much with this particular topic.

I’ll make a short list of what’s important to me. These are my top priorities at this point in my life.

  • My physical and emotional health
  • My husband, father, and pets
  • Dancing
  • Writing
  • Making art
  • Learning

I’m in the Sketchbook Project. I’ve done it for a couple of years now and I’ve never been delighted with the contents of my sketchbooks. I’m not skilled at drawing. This year I’ve decided to devote much of the book to the art of Zentangle.

Here’s a shot of what I worked on yesterday.

I have a few Zentangle books and I’m trying to follow some of the tangle patterns.

Perhaps tomorrow I’ll write about my make-shift stand-up workstation. I think both of those hyphens were necessary, which reminds me that I want to look up some information about the em dash. Should that be em-dash?
